The turbine is a rotating machine that takes the potential energy of the fluid flow. Simple turbines have one moving part, "rotor-blade assembly". Fluid moving makes the propeller rotates and generates energy to drive the rotor. (Jawad al-Din and Steam, 1989)

Micro-hydro is a term used for the installation of power plants that use water energy. Whereas micro means small hydro means water. Generally it can be interpreted that the plant Micro Hydro Power (MHP) is a power plant with a small scale that utilize the flow of water as the power (resources) to drive the turbine, converts the potential energy of water into mechanical work, turning a turbine and generator to produce electrical power small scale , (Khairul Umri, 2009).
The size of the generated power to the MHP is highly dependent on the water flow and the potential energy of falling water. MHP is not the same as the Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP), although its main source of energy generated from water. One of the differences seen in the amount of power generated. In general, the MHP is only able to provide energy above 500 watts up to 2 MW, if the energy generated exceeds the already classified in hydroelectric power plants.
