Hydroelectric Power Plant


Hydropower plants is a change of power from hydroelectric certain heights and discharge it into electricity, using water turbine and generator. The success of hydropower plants depends on the height of falling water and the debit. (Sherly, 2008)



In general, the installation of the MHP is a hydroelectric plant types live streams. Construction of buildings intake to draw water directly from the river can be dam (intake dam) that ran along the width of the river or stream instantly share of river water without building dams equipped. Intake locations must be chosen carefully to avoid problems.

Location riverbed intake must have a relatively stable, especially when the intake structure without dam (intake dam). Unstable riverbed prone to erosion so that the bottom surface of the river is lower than the base of the building air intake, it will impede the flow of water entering the intake.

Meanwhile, the inner side is the site of the dam siltation and sedimentation, so it is not suitable for the location of the intake.
